Pours a pale lemon yellow. Looks hazy from a distance, but is absolutely transparent up close. Big frothy white head with OK retention, leaving tons of spiderweb lacing behind.

The dry hopping really takes over the nose with an intense herbal quality. It's characteristic of every Offshoot brew, although it's not quite as potent here as in their IPAs. Mint, oregano, parsley, orange peel, green peppers; behind, honey, grass, and cracker from the malt. Really wonderful aroma, but nothing about it makes me think "Pilsner."

Crisp and refreshing like a pilsner, and the earthy, slightly sickly sweet malt is present on the second half, but the hops really dominate the first half. Herbal and juicy, following the nose. The longer you allow the finish to linger, the more classic pils characteristics emerge - and it's quite good. Some herbal qualities linger, as well.

A bit oilier than I expect for a pilsner, quite possibly because of all the hops, but otherwise a crisp and lively brew with plenty of bite.

The malt, yeast, and some of the hops may be German, but this is an American beer through and through. Then again, if more pilsners tasted like this, I'd drink a bunch more of them. Stylistically it may be a bit of a bastard - a hybrid at the very least - but it's a wonderfully executed brew.

It's also worth noting that the can art is phenomenal!

Absolutely shocked to see this crystal clear and straw colored liquid coming from an Offshoot can. About time! A lovely and proper thick, foamy head fights to keep afloat, and grasps onto the side of the glass with ease.

A wonderful blend of aromas from all over the world tease the senses. Spicy, floral, fruity, citrusy, earthy, grassy, and a hint of lightly toasted bread make this quite inviting.

Lemon and grass sweep the taste buds before a quick entertainment cracker flavor leads into a long earthy and lemon pepper spice finish.

It is light and crisp, clean and sharp. Well balanced and finishes exceptionally dry.

Today is an easy beer to drink while being complex in it's entirety. It's ambitious, but well made. It's nice to see Offshoot venture in this direction, and hope to see more like this. Cheers, and thanks Jay!

Poured 16oz can into Pils glass. It is pale straw yellow with a 2 finger pillowy white head that leaves behind large webbed lacing on my glass. The aroma tells me this is no traditional Pils. Very lemon and citrus aroma with some grassy and light yeast notes. The cracker malt is there, but this showcases the dry hopping that was done. A very light cracker malt and plenty of citrus lemon hops. Body is light, crisp with good carbonation and finishes rather dry. A fun take on a classic style.

Ah the first can of Offshoot I had ever cracked. I wish it were under better circumstances, I went into this with a heavy head on Monday. Between the death of Tom Petty less than a week after seeing him, and the horrible Las Vegas murders, Monday was a difficult day.

So, chilling in my all black suit and tie, I lit a fire in the front yard, cranked up the Tom Petty jams and cracked this beer. Somewhat hazy yellow, light in color was the pour, a great 1" white head on it. Aroma was one of the best and hoppiest ones for a German pilsner. Yummy, earthy seemingly noble hops. As some other reviewers have noted, there is a lemon/lime like citrus aspect to it, but I hesitate to make you think this is like busting open a can of Sprite. Its ain't all old school hops though, there is something new/proprietary going on, given its unique hoppiness.

At the end of the day, its a pilsner with some of the most unique hopping out there. I can dig it man, I just wish it came out in June instead of the end of September.

Crystal clear pale yellow with close to two fingers of white head that leave nice, thick rings of lacing.

Big hop aroma of lemon, lemongrass and grass, in that order of intensity. It combines to give a spicy impression. Maybe there's some Saaz involved, but I'm skeptical these are all Noble hops here (clearly there are new world varieties in the mix).

It almost has a pils taste up front, in that's its light, with some biscuity malt and a light, firm bitterness. But then there's more lemon and even lime mid-palate, followed by what first struck me as an abrasive wallop of nutty bitterness on the backend, but that faded into the background over the course of the pint.

Medium to heavy bodied for the style with an appropriate amount of carbonation that lends to a certain crispness.

I tend to dislike messing with classic styles, but honestly, this was fun to try. That nutty, almost roasty note, strikes me as a flaw, but it's relatively hidden; if it were absent I'd score this higher. The lemon-lime flavors almost make it seem like a Berliner-Pils crossover. If this were local, I'd put it in my summer rotation.
