Misc.: Quick review
Got to try this while hanging out with Chad and Bill at Revision. Untappd had it as, “Our Darkling Imperial Stout, aged in Heaven Hills bourbon barrels and conditioned on cacao nibs. A special treat for our Second Anniversary.” Was excited to try it, even for the $10 price tag. Was going to be a quick review while getting smoked at trivia.
Poured a pitch black color with 1-to-2 fingers of tan frothy head. Slow bubbles coming up from the sides of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled bourbon, vanilla, oak, toffee, caramel, milk chocolate and cocoa. (Smell - 4.75)
Taste followed the nose for the most part, but not nearly as good. Got smooth bourbon, caramel, toffee, cocoa, milk chocolate, vanilla and oak. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just a lovely beer overall. World-class. (Overall - 4.50)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
