Beach day. Warm sun, blue ocean, swaying palm trees, gently crashing waves, the smell of coconut-laced sunscreen. You want a crisp refreshing hoppy beer that you can enjoy a lot of without having to take a nap in the sun. With a round, full body to support the hops, this beer satisfies the hop craving with flavors and aromas reminiscent of a tropical fruit basket, all while keeping you super chill as you bathe in the sun.

16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Light golden pour, minimal head. Light hops, dank in the aroma and taste. Silky, oily, mild dryness. Mild but flavorful. A bit subdues fromt heir usual output.

Poured from a can - pours a clear golden straw color with quickly dissipating white head leaving some scattered frosty lacing. Nose is mostly mild tropical fruit with faint whiffs of hops. Taste follows and is mild all around with a bit of hoppines and an almost dry finish. Seems more like a hoppy pale than an IPA, definitely a session or yard work kind of brew. Another winner from Revision.

A true session ipa, so you damn well know the ratings will be lower on average compared with the same brewery's imperial offerings. Shit is true for every brewery on BA, shame shame shame. SHAME!

Anyways, was stoked to see this, Revision needed something like this in their lineup. Pours a golden color 1/2" white head. Good clarity. Aroma was popping hard on the stone fruits, but it kept the tropical ones going per usual. Just because its a session beer doesn't mean it can't bring the hop noise and this is a good example of such a thing.

Taste, oh yeah, super light and crushable dry simple malt body. Crisp barley baby. Hops keep on crushing the stone fruit notes without even thinking about giving you any alcohol sting, bittterness burn or anything problematic. Not quite sure what they did hop wise here, some combination of Citra/El Dorado/Galaxy is my guess, but its just a guess based on what I'm perceiving. Only downside is these are $4 per can, but I can see it being a repeat purchase next summer. Love that this beer exists, they had so many damn imperial ipas that were tough to discern from one another. This stands out, this isn't like anything else in their lineup. Great to crush these when you're hanging out with the kid or parents and not in "tear it up" mode.

Hoppy aroma - citrus, perhaps a bit of other fruit - apricot?.

Golden amber, clear with moderate carb bubbles. 1 inch white head that drops quickly.

Good body considering the ABV.

Taste is also hops forward, citrus, a little "juicy" even, with a moderate level of bittering in the middle and finish. This is perhaps the best American-brewed low ABV hoppy ale I've had in awhile. There is plenty of flavor, enough body to keep it from becoming thin and watery, and a nice balance overall.

Well done.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours clear golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves some spotty lacing.

S: Dank, spicy, herbal, slightly funky tropical fruit, zesty citrus, toasted coconut, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.

T: Dank, herbal, spicy, interesting fruity notes, papaya, melon, and mango, a little citrus, lime, lemon, and tangerine, a hint of coconut, biscuity malt, and a touch of caramels sweetness.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Probably not my ideal beach beer, but for a 4% crusher it's got plenty of flavor.

Thanks, Chad!

Got this from Chad via Bill at the 2019 Firestone Invitational in one of our beer exchanges. Seemed like an interesting one from Revision, almost like one without a style. I went into it calling it an American Pale Wheat Ale. Can called it, “Beach day. Warm sun, blue ocean, swaying palm trees, gently crashing waves, the smell of coconut-laced sunscreen. You want a crisp refreshing hoppy beer that you can enjoy a lot of without having to take a nap in the sun. With a round, full body to support the hops, this beer satisfies the hop craving with flavors and aromas reminiscent of a tropical fruit basket, all while keeping you super chill as you bathe in the sun.”

Poured a light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of fizzy off-white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass at pretty consistent speeds. Outstanding spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled Motueka, Sabro, caramel, coconut, light vanilla, herbal and spoiled fruit. More malty than I would have anticipated. Slightly better out of the can with some floral additions. (Smell - 3.50)

Tasted better out of the nose. Got Motueka and Sabro for hops. Also tangerine, mango, caramel, coconut, stone fruit, light vanilla, herbal and spoiled fruit. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium-to-light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)

This beer grew on me as it went down. (Overall - 4.00)

if there is a more prolific and high quality brewer out there right now doing hoppy beers every which way, someone take me to it, but revision, for my money, is at the top of the heap right now. they just keep coming, and everything is glory, some are hazy, some are clear, all are different, these guys have my full attention, and im not sure ill ever pass up a new one again, i keep getting rewarded for picking up their beer, and i have no plans of stopping. this is awesome stuff, clear and lower alcohol than its siblings, but equally distinctive and well refined. i think the description is right on, huge coconut notes to this, both raw and toasted, with a really light malt base, notes of green grape, clover honey, and green apple. i almost never think the nose undersells a beer, like usually a good smell is not a guarantee of great taste, especially in hoppy and dry hop forward styles, but in this case, the nose is nowhere near as good as the taste, it almost smells faded from the can, but the taste is epic, punchy and unique hops, a sorachi ace herbal and dill and citrus thing to me, but could be something else (dying to know the hops in this one). i love the freshness, and the slight citric tang, even almost a trace of insetting bretty funk, but you have to look for that. this is bright and sexy beer, insanely flavorful for its low alcohol content, and just something i can and want to drink forever. awesome carbonation, heaps of fleshy coconut to the hops, and just elite quality. these guys are leading the way right now, act right or get left!

Rating this beer for what it is. Very nice aroma, reminiscent of floral and piny flavors. Blindfolded, I could mistake this for a light IPA or a hoppy APA. The taste is definitely happy, and it follows the nose in terms of flavors, but thankfully, the rest of the ingredients, whatever they are, pleasurably balance the hop input. The mouthfeel is similar to light IPA's, which I would count a win for a 4% beer. This is a great light beer. If I had to choose one beer to drink all day non-stop, I'm not sure I could do better.
