Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Fruited Sour
Glass: Karl Strauss 26th anniversary .25L tulip
Price: $5.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 26, 2020
Consumed: Jan. 5, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date; Collaboration with Burning Barrel
Grabbed this and 10 other singles when I planned to go to Windmill Farms for two other 6-packs (I still got those). This one intrigued me. Back of the can called it an “Imperial Pastry Sour w/ Raspberries, Coconut, & Vanilla Beans.” I’m a sucker for raspberry beer so was looking forward to this.
Poured a light amber hazy color with one finger of off-white fizzy head, which dissipated quickly. Calm setting underneath the head. Average watery lacing. Minimal retention. (Sight - 2.75)
Smelled raspberry, vanilla, raspberry ice cream, coconut and raspberry candy. Not as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. In order got raspberry, vanilla, creamy raspberry ice cream, coconut and raspberry jam. Really smooth for 8.5 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Really liked this. This was excellent overall. (Overall - 4.25)
