16oz can served in a willibecker. Pours a lovely mahogany hue with a hazy clarity and a loose, quarter inch, bone-colored head. Nose expresses Underberg spices and wood. There is also a cidery quality. Taste follows nose - flavor profile is very anise-forward and wood quality lingers at the finish. Mouthfeel is medium in body with an easy, even carbonation and mild astringency. Overall, interesting and complex. I’m generally not a fan of anise but this comes together.
