Our lager has a combination of German and American hops that create a light, crisp beer perfect for our hot Kona days! Using a German ale yeast (or Kölsch yeast) we ferment it at degrees and 2-3 weeks.

From the small can, it pours a light yellow color with a vibrant white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a nice dose of grainy malt and light grass, followed by the mouth getting a pleasant light malt brew that is easy to drink.

Poured from the tap a bit cold, but it was 88 here today; so no harm, but the flavours emerged as it warmed.
Ma'a Looks like a good lager; tight bubbles, foam and lace that all last. Mostly malt for Smells, but nicely balanced Taste as the hops slowly enter mid-palate and finishes semi-dry. Refreshing. Medium-mouthed. And as I walked out into the heat, I appreciated how the subtle hops continued to dry.
My first from Ola, they get a micro-review. They've done well for a five year old, opening one taproom before Covid on the Big Island and then the other after. I bought this can in Honolulu so The Big Island gets distribution in The Big City. Their website shows Ola's age, but that is something to work on in the coming five years. Ola locally sources and its CEO is a woman. So for all that and a future of improving Hawaii's beer supply, I give Ola some good Overall Hugs. Mahalo !

a nice lager here, more flavorful than a lot of the straight up yellow beers, pils malt, kolsch yeast, noble hops, a lot of character but still super drinkable, even being off dry, its light enough bodied but each element brings a lot, a little earthy bready character and definitely a european vibe from the grain, a light summery fruitiness from the yeast, subtle but nice, and a bit of bitterness and clean herbal character at the end from the hops, some soft spice as it warms, really nice balance for how much is going on here, and the faint sweetness does extend a lot of good things, so where this maybe isnt the most crisp beer in this style space, its a worthwhile trade. light citrus, honey, and minerality as it warms. the carbonation is excellent, and even though it isnt radical, its pretty intentional and certainly more robust than a lot of its peers. i was impressed with some of the innovative recipes these guys had at their two locations we visited on the big island, and while this one might fly under the radar a bit, it brings a lot to the table for those seeking an easy drinking but not at all mindless warm weather brew. these folks are making some clever beers to say the least!

I had this on tap at Ola in Hilo.
Deep Gold. White ring. No lace. Aroma nice fruity grain and grass. Taste nice and full for pale lager. Firm sweetness with zesty balancing bitterness. Light Grain and bread with zesty lemony grassy bitterness. A very nice American pale lager.

Poured into a tulip glass. A slightly hazy golden color with a medium white head. A mild citrus and floral aroma along with bready malt. Taste followed. Sweet grain and a clean taste. Hop notes followed. Overall a very enjoyable beer. Well made.
