Mad Scientist Beer "Queen of Graceland"
330 ml can, seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
Notes: Brewed with malted barley, sour cherry, malted oats, flaked oats, lactose, maltodextrine, coconut puree, malted wheat, vanilla, and yeast.
Look: Depending on how you pour it, or what part of the pour you're at, it can be very hazy to milky with chunks. It might be a good idea to roll the can a little bit before pouring it to get it evenly mixed. The liquid is amber with a purplish sheen and the very short-lived head is pinkish. It's really an ugly, muddy semi-reddish brown mess but I have to give it a little bit of grace as it's a pastry beer.
Smell: Berry-like with some coconut coming through as well.
Taste: Sour - check. Cherry - check. Coconut - check. In that order, but there's also some vanilla. It's tart but not too tart, and it finishes dry but not biting.
Feel: Medium in body but with a bigger feel due to the lactose and extra proteins, and occasional bits of coconut.
Overall: Quite an enjoyable and unique beer. Could it be better? Probably, but it's really nice as it is.
