A: Almost grapefruit orange coloring, with a fairly good dense nature. No head formation when poured into a small pint style glass. Light carbonation factor.

S: The aroma was coconut cream custard, lightly sweet with hints of sweet tropical fruit. Some oranges round out. The strength was slightly above average per style.

T: The flavor had some dry coconut flakes, lightly sweet custard, and was dry overall. A really good malt base accommodates the style.

M: The mouthful followed the flavor, creamy, thick and slippery with a nice thick substance.

O: Overall good drink ability, and from what I am told, and witnessed in my time here, one of the go to beers for the regulars. Good drink ability, a nice combination and coconut influence, along with a good malt base per style. Seems to be a go to favorite for the regulars.

Eclipse Brewing "Coconut Cream Ale"
on tap at the brewery on 28 October 2017

This appears to be their Cream Ale with coconut water added. I think I prefer the regular Cream Ale. It's a slightly hazy golden in color beneath a white head that steadily fades (probably due to coconut oils). There's no coconut in the aroma but it comes through in the flavor. It seem authentic, not artificial, and tastes like coconut water. It seems to toggle back and forth between basic malt and the coconut, which is a little unusual but at least it's not overdone. Overall it's fairly balanced and a nice beer.
