The river shapes more than our great city, it shapes our lives… the food we eat, the music we love, how we live our life in the Cresent City. All that we enjoy flows from the rich waves of culture that have flooded us with pride. We salute the river and the city with our flagship beer. Our golden lager starts with a fruity, peach nose. The flavor is moderately sweet with a soft malty character and a crisp clean finish.

Clear honey amber with a moderately short but dense off-white blanket settling to a bubbly film and collar that leaves spongy lacing.

Clean, lightly toasty malt and slightly grainy cornmeal meats a crisp tang with hints of citrus rinds.

The medium body finishes just paper dry, developing a touch of grassy bitterness to balance.

In Laurel:
LOOK: Pours a clean light gold with a slightly off white head that has fairly good retention before settling to a thin
skin with a 360 degree light side glass lace.
AROMA: Fairly strong corn husk, some sourdough breads, a little cold mettle.
TASTE: Not a lot of flavor, there is a less than pleasant sour after taste.
Not a beer I expect to look for ever again.

12 fl oz pull-tab can comped to me by a coworker:

5% ABV. Consumed straight from the can (as conditions forced):

Creamy yet overcarbonated. I think I taste corn adjunct, which surprises me in what I thought was an all-malt American lager. 6-row/cheap barley. Some graininess. A hint of unexpected peach (I don't know what is imparting this flavour given the lager yeast shouldn't be throwing out any fruity esters). Minerality.

A bit harsh on the palate mouthfeelwise given its bitingly crisp overcarbonation. Unrefreshing as a result, but it is a wet and smooth brew despite the overcarbonation.

Finishes on a lingering note of cheap malt sweetness and a scintilla of creamed corn.

I don't taste any off-flavours or obvious faults, but it's not a particularly well balanced brew and I wouldn't call it a good expression of an American lager...hell, even Michelob Lager is leagues better (and costs less).

Drinkable, though, and far from Port Orleans' worst beer. Still, I'd sooner buy Michelob Lager, Boston Beer Co. Sam '76, or even Simpler Times...

Attractive clear gold color with creamy white cap and lacing.

Pleasant grain scent with some light melon notes.

Flavor is straight forward AAL in it's approach. I don't know what makes up the grain recipe in this brew but it really reminds me of PBR in taste, feel and finish. Flavor leans toward the fuller bodied style and the beer is better for that, I also notice some richer malty elements as the beer warms up a bit.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Tourist beer is the phrase that comes to mind which is to say one of those things that taste best on it's home turf.

I tried this at the brewery. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had nice grain presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink finished crisp and clean. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation .Overall it's a good lager.

Light gold color and crystal clear. Nearly no head and only a few spots for lace.

Fairly nondescript toasted malt aroma.

The flavor is very close to the Oktoberfest with a low hop and toasty malt. Slightly creamy with no notable hop. Moderate body and elevated carbonation. Short malty aftertaste.
