While the brewer classified this as a Saison, it had more of a Belgian PA feel and taste to me. At any rate, it's a pretty hoppy Saison.
Tulip glass pour. Honey gold with 1/2 finger cream head with a few caramel streaks. No retention. Thin rings of lace.
Pale malt nose with a light clove/banana twist. A Belgian pale ale nose with just a touch of grapefruit.
Banana/clove repeats up front in the flavor. Crisp, but mellow, finish with a touch of sour grapefruit. Nicely done.
Heavy body with good notes of cream.
Overall, a very nice ale and easily the best beer I had in MB this summer.
