Poured from 330mL bottle into my Belvárosi sörfesztivál tulip. Best by 1/5/26. This appears to be brewed by HopTop specifically for sale in Tihany.
Appearance: pale golden-brown hue with a light-to-moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: rather malty, and I can definitely smell the wheat here. There’s lavender, of course, and I’m getting something that reminds me of orange peel (though there’s no orange in this). Not bad, but a bit on the sweet side and not super balanced.
Taste: sweet, and with kind of a sharp-ish flavor that I don’t entirely love. Once again there’s wheatiness and lavender which remind me of a witbier. It’s not terrible, but it’s not the best lavender beer I’ve had.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: definitely my least favorite of the 3 lavender beers I picked up in Tihany yesterday. I don’t hate this beer at all, but it’s got some kinda tangy sharpness (is it the preservatives?) that just doesn’t quite work for me.
