Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $16.50 for a variety Green Cheek 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 29, 2020
Consumed: Aug. 5, 2020
Misc.: Canned on July 2, 2020
Picked this up at Blind Lady Ale House with three other Green Cheek beers for a variety 4-pack price of $16.50. Was labeled online as, “Member when your beer was clear? Member when it was bitter? Member when you didn’t have to ask if it was West Coast or Hazy? This beer is that beer. All Canadian barley and dry hopped with 100% Mosaic. You member?” Mosaic is my favorite hop and 100 percent Mosaic-hopped beers are my favorite single-hopped beers. Looking forward to this one.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy-to-fizzy off-white head, which dissipated quickly. Could see just a few bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Average watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 3.00)
Smelled big Mosaic, mixed berry, floral, mango, rose blossom and bubblegum. Much of the same from the can with the addition of some earthy malt. (Smell - 4.25)
Wow. Not quite as good on the nose. Still Mosaic leading the way and the same characteristics, but lots of spice and bitter aspirin. In order got Mosaic, earthy peppery spice, herbal, bitter aspirin, mixed berry, rose blossom, mango, bubblegum and earthy malt. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Average carbonation. Oily texture. Long, spicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Wanted this to be a little better, but that bitter aspirin taste was holding it back. I’d still have it again though. Very good. (Overall - 3.75)

Great ipa. Nose was fragrant and pour was clear. Taste was everything that is expected from a west Coast ipa. If I could add a wish, it would be a stronger bitter after flavor.

About as West Coast as Arnold Schwarzenegger in a G string, this one is full of California pride. Huge hop aromas and flavors, that are met by a perfect, smooth bitterness. Like Ron Jeremy shooting a scene, this one is a huge success!

On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza. Aroma is boozy with aspirin notes and generic hops. Taste is hoppy and dry but it also has a weird medicinal bitterness.

At Green Cheek, on draft.
Straw colored with hints of amber. White fluffy head that retreats to a slick of tightly packed bubbles.
Aroma is a blend of citrus notes and a hint of pine.
Taste is more of the same with a hint of lite bready notes. Finishes with a crisp citrus note that goes more bitter at the end.
Mouthfeel is spot on for style and carbonation is a subtle, yet constant player.
Overall, a solid IPA.
