Glass: Firestone 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $16.50 for a variety Green Cheek 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 29, 2020
Consumed: Aug. 1, 2020
Misc.: Canned on June 15, 2020
Picked this up at Blind Lady Ale House with three other Green Cheek beers for a variety 4-pack price of $16.50. Was labeled as a double-dry hopped hazy IPA with Citra and Ekuanot. That’s one of my favorite hop combos, so was really looking forward to it.
Poured a golden hazy color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Could not really see any bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding watery lacing. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled big Citra, lime, lemon, pine, dish soap, orange peel, lesser Ekuanot, melon, papaya and a touch of green pepper usually associated with Ekuanot. Better out of the can with Citra and Ekuanot really fighting it out. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Citra, lime, pine, lemon, dish soap, orange peel, melon, papaya, lesser Ekuanot, green pepper and lingering pepper spice. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Average carbonation. Oily texture. Long finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was very good overall, but not as good as I was hoping it would be. (Overall - 3.75)

Great beer from Green Cheek. Very smooth with subtle bitterness but huge pine and citrus from the hops. Subtle cracker flavors from the lightly roasted grain. Heavier mouthfeel then expected but works for the beer. Great beer worth getting if you can find it.
