This is the only beer that I had today that was a full pour, and it was quite good. It had a medium to small head and a nice golden color. The aroma was malt and citrus with a little juiciness and the taste was similar. Really enjoyed this beer as I do almost all 'fresh hopped' beer. Rated 10-8-2024

Brewed with FH Strata.

Enjoyed at one of their brewpubs during the 2024 FH season.

From the tap this pours a light gold. The fresh hop character emerges as it opens. Worth waiting for. There’s a definite strata note on the nose and sip, abundant yet delicate. Smooth and easy drinker.

Lacey, nearly white head. Medium amber look. Balanced, juniper berry, mixed flowers and medium toasted caramel malt, makes up the aroma. Moderate amount of mixed citrus peel, with emphasis on grapefruit, lemon, and medium light toasted malt, makes up the taste.

12oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Bottom is stamped with COLMAN FARMS SIMCOE 9/06/22.

Pours a clear light amber with a very large, rocky head. Smell is resin first, melon and bubblegum second.

Taste is definitely in the same direction, with more of a melon rind and cut vegetation vibe to provide some bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, kind of soft. Overall, very nice.

*2022 Version using fresh Simcoe hops

Look: Slightly opaque burnt orange with a lively white head that builds and begins to slowly settle, leaving sheets of lacing behind
Aroma: Whoa. Pithy grapefruit flesh and peel, wet Cannabis flowers, pine sap, sweet onion, tangelos, and some bready malt deep in there somewhere
Taste: A ton of pine sap and wet needles along with fresh squeezed and zested grapefruit start this fresh hop journey off with a bang as weed and onions follow close behind. Citrusy Cannabis and pine battle for dominance throughout as the oniony part comes and goes and the malt just barely keeps it all together before it closes with a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, medium-high carbonation, and light felt dryness on the finish
Overall: This is outstanding, simply put. Simcoe is my favorite overall hop and between me not usually seeing this FH beer from these folks locally and the use of fresh Simcoe, I absolutely had to try it when I saw it. It’s a glorious showcase of everything fresh Simcoe should bring to the table and ridiculously tasty and well-made to boot. A straight up grapefruit-led citrus/Cannabis/pine/onion bomb through and through. Highly recommended and thanks to Level for this gem
