Look: Straw in color and cloudy with a lofty white head that erupts to the rim, slowly settling to a pillow and leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Straw, a potpourri of floral notes, lemon zest, light herbal tea, limes, cereal grains, herbal notes, and bready malt
Taste: Whoa. Hits hard up front with a quick herbal flash before lemon and lime zest explode onto the palate, which start to develop and settle. Straw and a barrage of floral notes come on next and interplay with the citrus while grains are abound throughout. Closes with herbal, floral and citrus notes
Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and crisp and clean on the finish
Overall: This is one tasty beer. I’m a sucker for this base beer already and Lorien hops are one that I have zero experience with so I really wanted to try this and it didn’t disappoint. Lorien brings a unique straw/citrus/floral component to the table and it shines here, even at 30 days old, and adds a cool twist to an already delicious Saison. Definitely worth the 4pk purchase and recommended
