A unique take on a brown that once again exemplifies WK's astounding terroir.
Shades of garnet and reddish-eggplant. Semi-clear.
Aroma is indelibly sweet. Fruity esters like a dunkel resembling a banana nut muffin with toffee chips.
Med bodied, slick feel with smooth carb. Lots of puffiness without added weight.
Flavorwise, it really puts you in a place of eating pancakes topped with black walnut maple syrup or something out by their firepit. The toasted bark really gives more or a smoked flavor. It's a little of an acquired taste if not expecting it. A little resin/herbal bitterness is perceptible in the finish.
This really competes/reminds me of Arrowood's Black Sheep.

On tap at Enzo’s, Kingston, NY.
Chocolate; toasty nose; bread crust, walnuts, and cola end, medium.

The soul of a proper brown. Ends up too sweet from the maple, though. Take off the last thing you put on.
