Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a medium to dark bronze amber with a half finger white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, berries, mild orange, clove-like spice. Flavor is caramel and biscuit malt, piney hops, pine, mild red berries and winter spices. Piney and lemon rind bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Wasn't sure what to expect from this one, which is labeled as a red IPA. And that's what it turned out to be; the flavor starts as a hopped red ale, but the finish is old fashioned biscuit malt and some assertive piney hops. This one grew on me as I drank it. Distinctive and interesting, with a proper amount of bitterness in the finish. Looks great.

Canned on 10/18/23. Consumed on 11/6/23.
I really like this beer.
Think old school malty IPA meets new style NE IPA. Citrus plays Alto Sax while the malt plays Tenor Sax.
Deep rich copper color perfect for Fall.
Malt punch with a Refreshing finish. This is a very drinkable beer. Someone else noted off flavors on a later release date, but I didn't get that at all on the release I drank. Crisp and clean.
I will buy this again.

A: Rich and warming mahogany. Slight beige head.
S: Warm caramel apples baking with orange and clove in the oven.
M: Semi-creamy, short of rich med-light body. Good carbonation.
T: Starts with a mineral, soapiness like a dissolving pill in the mouth. Pine, sulphur granny smiths, smidgen of chocolate, floral balsam and holly. Mid-to-higher levels of unrefined bitterness and Werther's originals adds up to an odd tasting candied cough drop.

Canned on 11/6/19; consumed on 11/26/19.
A: Poured into a tulip glass. Body is coppery/mahogany-amber with a half-finger of greyish-white head on top.
S: A little "off" in the nose - too fruity sweet (think overripe apples and butterscotch/toffee) over a touch of caramel.
T: Caramel malt foundation, overripe apples, brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon. Finishes with a minerally bitterness that definitely offsets the sweeter elements into the aftertaste. Heat from the ABV (7.2%) is noted in the belly.
M: Call it medium in heft, carbonation is more or less lacking, making this one drink a little bit slick.
O: Disappointed in this one. I've had some really good beers from West Kill, but this one doesn't do it for me. Glad I only bought the single can.
