This one pours a mostly clear golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells lightly citrusy, but mostly floral and bready.
This is really pleasant – it’s super crisp, clean, bitter, floral, and bready, all in the right proportions. That slightly lemony and zesty hop character is really pleasant.
This is really drinkable, with a smooth bite on the finish.

Pale gold with a meringue white cap of foam that’s steady; potpourri + lemon zest nose; clean grain that opens into warm white pan, flowers, lemon balm, light grass; crisp, soft, smooth.

Saaz, Hallertau Mittelfruh
Amazing perfumed nose - I’m baffled how they’re getting that out of two noble hops that everyone’s known for a couple of centuries.
That carries through to the bouquet of floral hops in the flavours. And though I’ve seen big lemon from Saaz in Prima Pils, it’s never been in this feathery, more dessert than savoury way - almost like Sicilian lemon. (I’m sure just short of 6 weeks in the can is helping here.)
I’d be tempted to call it a pils because of that, but the bitterness is not there. Instead there’s a so-fresh-it’s-sweet country loaf breadiness to the malts.
So it is what it says: a strong hoppy lager. An idiosyncratic, fascinating + endlessly entertaining beer to drink.
This brewery is next level.
