When in the tropics, drink tropical beer. Ocean labs looks at all those passionfruit trees and think, "we gotta use those things."
Their Ocean Mambo comes with a faint golden haze and a froth cap to deliver all those tropical fruit scent and a backdrop of sourdough, light bread and citrus. As its gentle sweetness splashes against the tongue, the soothing malt flavors bring out those bready, sweet and brisk grain flavors to the forefront. But a rise of passionfruit pulls ahead and races to a tangy, racy and playfully tart finish.
Hints of citrusy hops finish out the show as the crisp and refreshing ale shows a slight pectin bite with mild hop bitterness for an aftertaste of fruit rinds.

On tap at the source.
Pours a deep gold with a touch of haze and a big frothy white head that lasts forever. Light spicy beer with bits of tropical fruits. Pretty interesting.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a tumbler.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a bit of light haze and a thin finger of fizzy white foam atop. Seems reasonable enough but some more head retention would be nice.
Smell: passionfruit all the way down; it's fresh and bracing and tart. It really works in a wheat beer, though some of the wheaty subtlety is missed. Still, I quite like it.
Taste: quite passionfruity, like the aroma, but toward the finish you get more of the wheat malt character. I would say the flavor combination doesn't work quite as well as in the aroma, but still pretty good.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a moderate carbonation and decent-enough creaminess.
Overall: I'm going to give the beer a high score here because it's super refreshing and drinkable. Definitely worth trying out if you come across this in Puerto Rico.

Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no dates. Served in a Rastal Craft Master Grand.
Appearance: The foamy, two finger head stays around for a very long time and leaves some beautiful lacing that's coats the entire glass. It's a slightly hazy, pale gold color.
Smell: It's a fruity, candy-like smell. The dominant note is of passion fruit with a slight hint of grain in the background.
Taste: It has a slightly sweet taste with little to no bitterness. The passion fruit is really present on the palate backed up by a warm, wheat presence.
Mouthfeel: It's light, smooth refreshing and slightly creamy with low carbonation.
Overall: A nice and refreshing brew. The strong passion fruit aroma and taste make this a great beer for the beach or a hot, sunny day.
