Viscous black with brown highlighting and surface lacing. Smells of milk chocolate, toasted coconut, and vanilla. Taste something went awry, sickly sweet but also a touch smoky on the backend as it warms. Milk and semisweet chocolate upfront is very lush and pleasant, and when the coconut comes in is too, but then the off flavors emerge with the vanilla, booze, and seemingly table sugar. Feel is sweet, boozy, somewhat smoky, and super malty. Missed the mark, and was so promising in some aspects too!

From can, one day from release date.
Deep dark brown color with lots and lots of foam upon aggressive pour. The foam also stuck around for a good bit. Smell was a bit of roastiness to go along with bakers, bitter chocolate. Did not get much of toasted coconut in the aroma. Flavor was a lot of bakers chocolate and to my surprise, a good amount of toasted coconut. Medium-thick mouthfeel.
So why the low score, on taste specifically? Because for someone who prefers more measured additives in their stouts and prefers more the straight up, no adjunct/additive stouts, this is just way too sweet. I mean, it's super rich and decadent for my taste. I had 5-6 sips and passed the rest of the can to someone else because I just could not drink something that sweet. Pastry stout, diabetes bound fans will like it for sure though.
