Pours cherry red, then once the particulate is mixed it turns into a orangish red. Nice rosy pinkish head. Nose is very pungent sour. Nothing I can definitively put my finger on for the nose. Taste was not as sour as I expected, especially given the nose. Taste was citrus, assuming from the tangerine. Other flavors are there as well, presumably from the dragon fruit and passion fruit.

Tangy, tropical and citrusy, More Brewing strives to live up to their name by giving a sour fruite ale that’s just more.

Glowing with ruby mauve, Citropic seems to glow neon in the glass. As a dainty white foam floats the rim, the appealing scent of tropical fruit, citrus and berry decorate the nose. A sweeter upstart in taste occurs with a light cereal, candied and sugar glossed character early on the palate. Pleasant tartness rises with the character of white wine, cider and red berry to offer an offset to the sweetness ahead of the bolder tangerine, mandarin and valencia varieties of orange show up. Complementry flavors of passionfruit, dragon fruit, cranberry, pomegranate and guava suggest something slightly less citrusy but more tropical and berry-like to close.

Medium bodied and lacking the tartness needed for sour ale, the beer isn’t as plump or ripe in its fruit display to be an acclaimed fruit beer either. Caught in between, Citropic is a nice beer that likely plays well with others.

16oz tallboy can poured into Durobar Charente glass with Side Project logo. No canned on date to be found.

Appearance: Stunning opaque ruby red bodied beer. Bone white head pours tall and fizzes away to no head pretty quickly. You can see tons of fruit sediment clinging to the side of the glass.

Smell: tropical and citrusy fruit punch.

Taste: Juicy fruit punch with a light tangerine punch to it. More tropical notes then citrusy notes to my tastes here. Was expecting more citrus flavors because the name suggests it will have citrus flavors. I would consider dragon fruit and passion fruit to be more tropical than citrusy, but I am not an expert of fruit either. Tangerine I know is citrus, so I have that going for me. Perhaps this should be renamed "Tropical citrus"?

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Not boozy at all. Low carbonation. This beer suffers from lack of carbonation. And I get it... If More carbonated this beer more like a fruited lambic the cans would explode. So I can see why the carbonation is lacking here. If the carbonation was more present it would be a game changer for this beer. It needs more bubbles, dryness, and tartness to be great.

Overall: The fruit trio in this beer sounds like an awesome situation. It just needs carbonation to bring the whole thing to life.

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on May 5, 2021. I really like this blend of fruits. They compliment each other nicely. I would definitely try this again.

Had on tap. Looks like raspberry pink lemonade with a white ring. Smells of passion fruit foremost with tangerine and dragon fruit supporting with peach and mango accents. Tastes as it smells, but tangerine now leads with passion fruit and dragonfruit next with the peach and mango accents. Feel is bright, decently sour but more so fruity. Nice refreshing tropical ale for late spring
