A big Oatwine brewed in collaboration with our friends at Foreign Exchange. Huge flavors of toffee, caramel apple, & brown sugar.

Appearing to pour dark brown to black, it actually displays an almost clear dark red under light, and builds a khaki foam head of moderate height.
This seemed like a pretty good first effort that delivered sweet maple flavors without any excess booze to shock my palate.

16 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 5/24/21, had 6/26/21.
Pours a darker copper color, fairly clear, with a brief head and some light foamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, malt, brown sugar, light cherries and grain, a generally fruity aroma. The flavors are similar- caramel, malt, brown sugar, light cherries, some grain, a fruity flavor, light herbal hops. It’s a little sweet, not overly. Smooth, a solid medium body, well carbonated.
Lots of caramel and brown sugar, as promised. Great flavor. It’s a little straightforward, but really well done. Would buy this again.

16oz can
L: brown colored body, tan head fizzles away quickly
S: booze, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, grain, caramel apple as the brewers suggest
T: very sweet & rich; toffee, caramel apple, brown sugar, caramelized grain, oats, spicy rye, mild earthy hops
F: cloyingly sweet and sticky on the palate, syrupy thick, modest carbonation, sweet finish
O: way sweet for me; the potential there if it just had more bitterness

Had on tap. Chestnut partially cloudy body with a finger of beige foam. Aromas of toffee, caramel, brown sugar, booze and oat. Taste has the sweet flavors running through the whole sip without cloying, oat, barley and very light floral hops, great balance. Feel is less rustic than other oat wines I have had, but works as a dessert beer given how smooth and holistic it all is. Fun take on a different style
