Thanks to FBarber for this absolutely gorgeous gem of a beer. Sent in NBS BIF #17.
Onyx to mahogany in hue. A slight, delicate fluff of deep cocoa colored foam lazily rises, hovers momentarily and tapers off in a minute or so. Low retention. But daaaaamn, she's a looker.A light liquid "lacing" colors portions of the glass edge.
Nose is straight up decadent. Fudgy and deep. Chocolate, toasty almond, roasted caramel, and hints of cherry jubilee. As it warms, maybe through the power of suggestion (from the label), I pick up some warm vanilla/marshmallow notes.
Flavor is another level. Definitely a blending of what the nose foreshadowed but with a deep, slow meandering through the fields of Elysian ( hey there must be a part where dessert is served in a glass). A gentle warmth from the ABV is like a hug. Yes, everything is going to be alright.
Mouthfeel has a respectable heft, silky, and slightly warm. Peace.
Overall, a stunner.

draft pour into snifter. pitch black with a thin dark brown foam cap. roasty malts on the nose. a bit bland. hints of chocolate. taste offers more chocolate and still a bit of roast and nuttiness. not sure i get the whole rocky road experience but it’s tasty. doesn’t really drink like 14%. very thick mouthfeel that coats the mouth. pretty good beer. if nothing else the mouthfeel is on point and 14% gets the job done.

Another Henna viscous bomb with some of my favorite flavors. It had marshmallow body, dark chocolate, and coffee fruitiness. It has a similar profile/structure to the Cuppa line from MW. The nuttiness brings it all to earth.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at Flight Bottle shoppe and Tasting Room in Yorkville, Illinois as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had milk chocolate and marshmallow. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip. It had milk chocolate malt base with vanilla and peanut presence. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had smooth carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
