Great tasting porter tried on tap at City Built. Looks great, deep dark black color with some tan mild head and spotty rings of lingering lacing. Smells of medium roast coffee, mocha chocolate, caramel, vanilla, roasted nuts and malt. Taste follows the nose, and there’s a distinct smokiness with the roasted nuts that’s both surprising and very pleasant. Very well done and well balanced. Smooth, slightly creamy, mild mouthfeel and good carbonation. An excellent offering.

This beer is flavorful. It has delicate notes of coffee and dark chocolate, intertwined with a dry, and slightly bitter nuttiness. It’s moderate roast goes far enough, suggesting some ashy and even meaty notes. Very much enjoying this beer.
