16oz pour in a shaker at Stout Street Social.
Pours black, not totally opaque, a couple millimeters of durable head. Smell is not particularly powerful, lots of coffee and burnt bread with earthy-pine bitterness. Some peanut, which is surprisingly clear.
Taste is earthy-pine bitter, predominantly. A little grapefruit juice, lots of burnt coffee.
Mouthfeel is light, soft, smooth. Overall, it's not bad, but it only *almost* scratches that black IPA itch...."almost" is a pretty good overall descriptor, in fact.
