A cloudy amber beer with abundant foam in the Piraat tulip. A little papaya in the nose. Quite sudsy on the tongue with a lively carbonation in the thick body. Extra fruity and tastes of orange juice with that papaya again. It would be a nice flavor but the sharp edge takes over. It's more of a fruit cocktail with heavy syrup, as they say on the cans. But even after that modest pleasure the bitterness emerges to fight with the acidity. This could have been an excellent DIPA. From the 16 oz can purchased at Mirage Liquors in Palm Springs.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, other than Half Acre's reputation. Canned less than six weeks ago.
Pours with a little chill haze. There’s a muted aroma on this. Sweet citrus-marmalade notes on the sip, more on the juicy side. It’s an enjoyable sipper.

One time I was in a dream and the devil was in a rocking chair in front of me. I was a bit scared, but then I told that son of a bitch to stick his tail up his ass and go back to hell. What I am saying is, I popped the top on this damn thing and got a Hazy when I expected a West Coast. It’s actually still pretty good, but no one will tell Raul what to do.

4-pack given to me by my brother. Look is very very hazy. Smells exactly like lemonade. The taste - tropical, citrus, pine, flowers. Really juicy and sweet, the fruity hops combining with the malt backing. Murky, muddy, malt hop booze drink

More hop forward than other hazies. Still very nice as a whole, interesting earthy taste that comes at the forefront.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Cloudy yellow-gold, big head.
Smell: Citrus rind.
Taste: Mild sweet to start, then moves towards moderate grapefruit bitterness and citrus rind. Moderately bitter finish.
Overall: A solid DIPA/NEIPA combo from Half Acre here. Gives the soft feel of NE but more bitterness than per usual than that style. I like them on the bitter side so this works for me.

Can. Seems more like a NE than an imperial.
Hazy golden sunset orange. White head with lace.
Tropical, juicy, soft. Mango, papaya, orange, strawberry. Floral and pine hops. Nice bitterness in the finish. Love the soft, creaminess, but also dig the hops.

I greatly enjoy a double IPA. In addition, I do not care very much for the hazy style of IPA. Further, I do admire Half Acre Brewing of Chicago. I thought I could trust them. I mean, only five of their beers have appeared here so far, so I really don’t know them that well. I felt that
I bought a four pack of this one because it wasn’t $20, it didn’t say it was hazy, and I wanted a new Double IPA to add to my regular rotation. Another Ninja vs. Unicorn, Sticker Fight, Big Little Thing. And I got this.
Hazy, cloudy, bright golden hue, small white head, leaving a little lace.
In the nose: citrus and pine, with a side order of fuzz. Orange and lemon, behind guaze.
In the mouth: bold, zesty bitter blast, juicy mouthfeel, citrus aplenty. Also, murk and muck. It’s not that bad, actually, but when I want is clarity and crispness, getting this is disheartening. I’ve learned this lesson over and over, and keep getting burned.

Pours a hazed golden color with a nice fresh 1/2 finger head . Smell is citrus pine and malt . Taste hop forward with pine resin, grapefruit ,oranges ,melon pineapple and mango. Mouth skews towards a WCIPA it has bitterness, dryness and pine sap ,also has some sweetness from malts and tropical hops , Nice value for the Price Point ,

16 oz can poured into 500 ml Twin Oast pilsener glass. Hop forward, but not overly. Very drinkable.

Can dated 10/12/21 into an imperial nonic pint.
Really not sure if this is intended as a hazy or unfiltered WCIPA. Very dynamic in flavor and aroma spectrum, but nothing truly pops. Leans towards the tropical side of the palate, and a softer mouthfeel.
I like it and the price point is outstanding. While I don't gravitate towards DIPAs these days, I'll gladly grab again when I see it fresh. Doesn't displace Daisy Cutter though as my favorite HA brew.

16 oz can into a pint glass.
A: Hazy golden-orange color with a huge dense head that persisted throughout and left lots of rings of sticky lace on the side of the glass.
S: Lots of tropical/citrus-y IPA flavors here like grapefruit, mango, peach and orange sherbet to go along with some earthy hops.
T: Earthy hop bitterness makes its presence known right away as the fruitiness takes a back seat. Orange is the most dominant citrus element, but papaya and maybe some faint pineapple play supporting roles. Hop bitterness lingers long into the aftertaste.
F: Medium-full bodied with some creaminess to it.
O: A nicely balanced and flavorful DIPA that hides its ABV well.
