12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 2/27/24, had 6/18/25.
Pours near black and opaque, with a quarter inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, prune, rye, oak, some cocoa and char, a little licorice when warmed. The flavors seem more focused: bourbon, roasted malt, oak, some chocolate and prune, some rye and leather. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.
Certainly bourbon barrel forward, and quite robust. Seems like there’s rye barrels, too, although the description doesn’t say that. Lots of wood, as well. This is really good.

Dull matte black with a tall but quick to die tan to brown pockmarked head.
Incredibly deep and bracingly yet enjoyably potent, even after a full day's worth of exploring all the nooks and crannies beer can offer, this exhibits splintery wood, dusty cocoa and bourbon that creeps into an almost rum element. Toffee and cocktail cherry finish us off.

Canned 2/26/24; drank 3/14/24 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big dark tan head; strong lacing remained.
Dark chocolate, rye & faint honey notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Dark chocolate & faint honey flavors up front; rye spice notes on the finish. Booze heat emerged as this warmed.
A solid, down the middle barrel aged imperial stout that initially hides it booze heat well.
