Can to snifter.
TASTE: Sea salt counteeacts the sweet caramel and makes this interesting.
AROMA: I can also smell the sea salt which is interesting.
Super sweetness is a little closing; but somewhat manageable considering this is a busy flavor profile.
Excellent variant on a great series.

12oz can, dated 10.02.2024, poured into a stemless wine glass. Enjoyed on 02.19.2025, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
the beer pours a deep jet black color, super thick and luscious, thin head at first that becomes taller and stronger after the beer settles and offers very nice lacing. The aroma is nice, lots of chocolate and vanilla, hearty dark grains, sea salt, smooth toffee, light barrel heat, stone fruits. The flavors are interesting, lots of chocolate, rich and smooth, toasted oats, coconut, and oak, strong sea salt which really amplifies the toasted quality of the beer, stone fruits, vanilla marshmallow, hot spirit, toffee, brown sugar and grains. The mouthfeel is good, thick, luscious, velvety feel for a heavy body, coating, salty dry finish.
Verdict: A very curious blend. The saltiness definitely evokes the turtle candy but it clashes with the rest of the beer at times and feels very heavy.

Why, yes… Raul will! Benthic and its coconuts shake harder than Gilligan when he’s in the men’s room with the door locked all while thinking about Ginger. Baby, does this thang smash harder than Billy Corbin when he’s feeling Melancholic. Did Raul just go there?

Shimmering jet black body, brown cap that fades into a ring. Wowie wow wow, the taste is just like a chocolate turtle with a milder bourbon support. Even the salt comes through well, I have never had a beer pull this off so well. Smell is similar, I would say the chocolate is more saucy, barley detected in background with the bourbon and the coconut does seem a bit out of place. Feel is warm and so smooth, sugars start to add up, finish is boozy with a barley tail. A wonderful dessert beer

Poured from can. I think there was something off with this one. Benthics usually are amazing. This had an off cardboard-like earthy flavor that did not work whatsoever.

Appearance - The beer was slick black in appearance with a slight ran head.
Smell - The notes were chocolate, salt, and cardboard.
Taste - I believe that if I could drink Benthic from a Cracker Jack box, it would taste like this. Salt, chocolate, cardboard, peanuts(?) were among the notes. No me gusta!
Mouthfeel - The beer had a nice heavy body that allowed the cardboard to linger.
Overall - This is bad.

Half Acre really nailed the Turtle candy flavor profile. It distinctly tastes like a milk chocolate covered caramel with sea salt and nuts. Hint of barrel at first, but as this warms up the barrel ramps up and balances nicely with the chocolate turtle flavor. no booze whatsoever.
I'll even admit that I was a bit skeptical that this oat thing to make the nutty flavors pop would actually work. Well, consider me humbled...because it worked all too well.
