Immortal Benthic (2025)

Poured from a 12oz can into a Perennial SdC tumbler. Pours a thick and shiny black with the faintest mocha brown foam head. Nice barrel presence. Seems more bourbon but the apple brandy is there. There’s also chocolate and light coconut on the nose as well. Taste follows with chocolate, vanilla, light coconut, damp oak and spirit barrel. Really good. Very well balanced. Mature tasting. Thick mouthfeel. Slick and oily and coats the mouth. Maybe my favorite aspect of this beer. This was an excellent Benthic variant from the 2025 boxed set.

 

 

Had on tap. Pitch black pour with a dark brown head. Smells strongly of vanilla, coconut, and the barrels, especially bourbon with a brown sugar flair. Taste adds the apple brandy in force to join the dominant vanilla, otherwise big oak, coconut, and chocolate. Feel is thick and heavy but the sweetness is strong but barrel character is just deep enough to cover, though it is cooler with all of that vanilla
