From a 473ml can dated 10/22/2025. Poured into a pint glass. A two finger white head on a clear straw. The head diminishes to a thin layer. minimal fine patchy lacing.

A very mild malt aroma. A bit thin in the flavour department. Minimal malt or hop presence.

A light body and good carbonation. Overall a very drinkable American Lager. True to the style but not exceptional.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a nonic pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My sixth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and third for 2025...

Pours a very thin foam head that goes away within seconds.
Standard light beer color and filtered. Smells of malt.
Taste is a little doughy and malty. It's not bad but not really great either. I probably won't get it again but it was worth a try, plus it has the legendary Ronnie Coleman on the can so that grabbed my attention for the buy.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 20 2025 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a lightly foggy pale blonde colour, scaring up half a finger of loose, bubbly white head that is in a hurry to be somewhere else. Less than two minutes later, I'm left with a sickly thin collar and a few wisps on the surface; scant lace production. Clean aroma of grains, white bread and faintly floral hops.

Not much to say here - it tastes clean and inoffensive, but it's very much a bare bones craft lager. Grainy flavours predominate, with hints of white bread, soda crackers and a barely perceptible suggestion of grassy hops near the finish. Light in body, with relatively gentle carbonation that brushes softly across the surface of the palate. Excellent drinkability - I would say that it's this beer's only real strength, but can you really call 'drinkability' a strength when it comes to light lagers? That's more of a bare minimum expectation.

Final Grade: 3.42, a passable B-. Lightweight is nothing more than your typical light craft lager. It's not necessarily a bad choice if you're only considering low-cal options, and would be worth taking a look at in that situation - but even within the subset of "low-cal light beers" I don't think this stands out much, if at all. I mean, it tastes alright, and goes down easily - and in some sense, that's really all I expect from a light lager - but it's not enough to bring me back for more. It's my least favourite Mascot brew to date, but to be fair, I'm not the target demographic for this, either.
