On tap at Big Oyster Brewery, Lewes Beach, DE.
Pours a clear golden color. A modest head soon dissipates but yields thin rings of lacing.
The nose opens with a light amount of earthy and rustic funkiness that emits tartness. Fruity aromas of lemon, lime, peach, apricot, grapefruit and berries.
The taste is more on the fruity side with less dryness and spice than I’m accustomed to for the style. Crisp cracker malts are mostly neutral in flavor, with just a touch of caramel and honey sweetness. This supports fruity and estery notes of lightly tart and zesty citrus fruits, apricot, berries and pear. The finish is dry and mildly peppery.
Medium to light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. The carbonation is moderate to lively.
Not as spicy or dry as my favorite Saisons. Nevertheless, it’s a nice light drinking and refreshing palate opener.
