It poured out of a pint can much like an American Adjunct Lager, perhaps a little persistent head might be the visual difference. Same light golden-amber color, now that the sixteen fluid ounces are inside a clear glass liter mug, although it is slightly cloudier. There's lemon, or at least lemonade to smell, with distance malt and just possibly hops. But the aroma is mostly lemonade. Even to someone that doesn't necessarily appreciate the sweetening and/or fruiting of beer, this won't taste badly. It's not too sweet and it's not to fruity, although those that like the taste of lemonade, or in this case, Italian Lemon Water Ice, won't be disappointed at all. The mouthfeel is commendable and there's even some glass lacing. This drinks much fuller and smoother than expected from descriptive words like "water ice", "lemon" and "shandy". Many times, dumping unusual tastes into beer ends up shortchanging people that just like just beer. This may not be great, nor for everyone, but it's much better than could be expected.
