Hazy/Juicy IPA. Silver Medal Winner at the 2018 Brewing News, National IPA Championship. Fresh out of Eastern Oregon. Hazer Beam IPA is brewed with a bunch of Mosaic, Mandarina, Ekuanot, and Galaxy hops layered over a base of Pilsner malt and wheat. We added some Eureka malt from Baker City's Gold Rush Malt for some complexity.

Draft at PreFunk. Hazy golden pour, barely there head. Aroma is light and fruity, citrus, tropical notes. Taste is also subdued, gentle, easy on the palate. But fine tuned, like a laser, on a specific palate spectrum, which it hits all the marks. The sum is greater than all the parts.

close to a new gold standard for hazy ipa here, they really killed it with this one, and as awesome as the hop profile is, thats not all that makes it unique and awesome, i was super stoked on this one. its got some cool grain to it as well, starchy and earthy and dry, but not boring dusty cereal and wheat, there is more going on, more from the barley, and a neat creamy texture without the obvious use of lactose or oats or anything, i really like the way this feels as much as the way it tastes, and the contribution of the grain is more relevant than in most of these overall. the hop layering is epic, the galaxy leads for me, with some lime and melon to it and an obvious grassy herbal freshness, i love that hop in this context. mosaic seems to be well underneath that, but its usual canned pineapple juice and fleshy citrus thing is still here, and the tangerine notes of the mandarina are robust as well, the thought this through really well with the hops, and executed to perfection. the beer is juicy, but thats not all it is, and in a world where more and more of these are starting to all taste the same, this one really stands out as different. dry but malty at the end with good balance, a lime note, and a dry finish. killer beer, these guys are killing it with the hoppy stuff right now!

Schooner at Malt and Vine.
Pours hazy straw color with a medium size creamy head. Smell is fresh and tropical.
Taste is pretty strong grapefruit bitter. Moderate tropicalness. Dry.
Mouthfeel is quite light. Overall, very good.
