16oz undated can.

Pours cloudy gold with a short-lived head of white. Minimal retention or lacing. White grape with grapefruit and peach in the nose. Aromatic but not pungently so. Medium bodied with a creamy, almost chalky mouthfeel. Juicy citrus on the palate with zero malt and a light bitterness. Grapefruit with peach and mango. Finishes fairly dry with lingering tropicals.

Pours a darker orange gold color, cloudy with a robust, dense light biscuit head that retains well and leaves nice lacing.

Aroma is a bit sweet with tropical and citrus notes - having a hard time pinpointing the fruits.

The taste is also sweet up front, but not overly so, nor is it sticky. This is a fantastic clementine flavor, very fresh with a touch of maybe guava behind it. Maybe I could be convinced there is peach in the finish. The flavor doesn't morph much so it lingers into the finish very cleanly. Pale malt stays mostly out of the way - this is NOT a bready taste as some suggest, really just intense fruit flavor.

Feel is very soft, medium bodied, with a little seltzer and a very light alcohol burn in the finish, but very out of the way.

This is really a great NEIPA. A touch on the sweet side for those who like that

Sample at the NH Brewers Association Brewfest. Hazy murky dark yellow with a frothy white head. Tropical citrus with bits of bread to back it up. Pretty tasty beer.

This beer looks like a glass of pineapple orange juice. There is a huge fluffy white head and a ton of lace.
Aroma of citrus fruit and sweet malt.
Orange and grapefruit taste. Caramel faintly in the background.
Light to medium bodied, easy to drink.

From a crowler obtained at the brewery on February 19, 2018.

The pour is a murky, milky pale yellow with an explosive, lingering white head. Opaque.

The aroma has a decent fruit sensation of orange, pineapple, and grapefruit.

Smooth, creamy body and well into the medium range.

There is a mild sweetness with an underlying toasted bread character and a crisp finish. The taste is not quite as fruity as the aroma suggested but this has a nice aura to it.

From a 32oz crowler, filled 02/01/18... a 32oz can! Isn't life grand? Served in an imperial pint pub glass.

A perfectly opaque, golden-yellow glass of pineapple juice with two-and-a-half fingers of lush, shaving cream-like head. Retention is excellent, slowly settling into a dimpled-and-cratered cap with a fat, webby curtain of lacing.

Nose is doughy, spicy and fruity; pineapple, mango and cantaloupe.

Tastes like a creamy, unctuous fruit smoothie, with one of everything from the fruit aisle, left out in the sun for a day, then run through a juicer and briefly fermented. Pink grapefruit and white pepper dominate toward the end with more peppery spice and a little peachy yeast in the sinuses.

Feel is fat and creamy, medium-hefty bodied with fairly light but adequate carbonation. You probably couldn't really stand a straw up in it but it feels like you should be able to.

Overall, The Agent is almost a caricature of an NEIPA - I actually LOL'd when I took my first sip because it's so over-the-top. I feel like I had ought to be despising it just on some sort of general principal or the other but, in fact, it delivers exactly the fluffy-doughy-yeasty-hop saturation experience I so shamelessly crave.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy orange with a slight tan tint. Head is just off white, thin and quickly settles.

Aroma has sweet and zesty grapefruit and ripe tropical fruits, not huge, but pleasant if you give it a nice whiff.

Fruity, hint of sweetness, grapefruit pith and sweet ruby red grapefruit juice but mostly tropical fruit.

Soft and smooth, less than moderate carbonation and medium body.

A nice brew for their flagship, hits the New England IPA notes.

Original review (see bottom for update).
I was so very hopeful that this would be a wonderful beer. I’m also hoping my issues with this relate to the canning issues. One or the 4-pack can was actually leaky. Examining the seal of that can and others makes me realize they need to shake out and calibrate the equipment. I look forward to trying their stuff in draft to get a real feel for it all. Back to The Agent: Look is cloudy and a bit like dishwater. Lacks clarity. Flavor is just OK - I think they need to fine tune the recipe. Smell is average. Feel is average. I’ll rate this again after I have a draft. I loved watching their images as they prepped for opening so I am optimistic and hopeful especially since they are 25 minutes from my house.

Update: The brewer saw my similar comments regarding the canning issue on Instagram and they acknowledged they discovered a canning issue half way through their first run. They thought they pulled all the bad cans but must have missed some. They fixed the issue. They are replacing my 4-pack so I look forward to giving this beer another shot. Based on my rating compared to others I'm guessing I simply got a leakey batch that perhaps lost its freshness / carbonation. More to come...

(Updated review - enjoying it on tap at the brewery):

Very good. My issues had been related to the canning issue. Glad I tried it again. Cloudy rich orange color. Smell is subtle. Flavor is very good. Lots going on. Pineapple citrus nice... overall pretty decent.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!

A - Pours a hazy opaque orange tan color, 'sort of resembles river water but only with a thick, dense, creamy white head. Moderate carbonation with lots of large bubbles. Lacing is thick and frothy. Visually, the typical Northeast style with the opacity.

S - Citrus, ruby red grapefruit, tangerine/orange, and lots of juicy tropical fruit aroma.

T - This beer is all about the tropical fruit and peppery spice. Grapefruit, nice peppery spice, tangerine, melon, & passion fruit.

M - Big bodied and thick, silky textured, a little oily, and resiny on the very back end. Coats the mouth with tangerine and melon and creates a cotton-like sensation from the hops.

O - This is a rock solid IPA and definitely worth checking out. Recommended!

Poured into a 13 oz Alchemist Teku glass not sure when it was canned, but I know it was recent. Pours a murky orange yellow, with a nice 2 finger sticky white head that leaves plenty of thin wisps of lace behind.

Smell is guava, papaya, passion fruit, apricot, and some grapefruit rind.

Taste follows but a little more assertive than the nose, tropical front to back, with a mild grapefruit finish that lingers on the palate like Velcro.

Mouthfeel is slightly above medium, gentle carbonation, juicy but a tad sticky from all the massive amounts of hops, and incredible drinkability for 7% ABV.

Overall this place is 20 minutes from my house and I am so excited that they can really brew! Well done, glad you are here. Can't wait to watch you take off in this industry.
