A traditional Porter. Brewed with caramel and roasted malts. Roasty with flavors and aroma of slightly burnt caramel.

Sampled on tap at the brewery on February 18, 2018.

Jet black pour under neath a modest mocha or tan head with lacing on the glass.

The aroma definitely brings out roasted caramel malts, coffee, and a burnt character. The hop profile is low.

Light to medium body but smooth and delicate.

Sweet caramel malts are a big part of the flavor with a dry bitterness at the end.

407 is definitely better on tap. Brought home a Crowler, doesn’t start as well from the can, finishes the same. Wish they offered glass growlers as I personally like all beer in glass, soda too but that’s just me.

Poured at the brewery into a 16 oz can shaped pint glass. Pours a very attractive dark mahagony brown, with a half inch tan head that leaves behind some really thin streaks of lace.

Smell is cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, biscuity grain, coffee grounds, and some toffee.

Taste follows cocoa, vanilla, coffee, a little biscuit, and Worthers.

Mouthfeel is a silky smooth about medium, gentle carbonation and works with the style, not really dry, and drinks bigger than 5.5% ABV because of the flavor, but goes down pretty darn easy.

Overall this is a great example of the style, well done again.
