Aged in our Rye Whiskey barrels. This lends a slight Whiskey character to the beer while still being malty and rich.

Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Cellared over 1.5yrs, whatever harshness might have been there originally was pure smooth, creamy goodness. I dislike anything BBA, but this was only a hint, combined with clear maple notes and the creamy oats, delicious!

Easily my favorite (thus far) Kettlehead beer.
In the snifter it was black with a medium-sized tan head.
Chocolate aroma, some booze.
Chocolate and whiskey taste.
Rich mouthfeel.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!
A - Very dark brown to black color with thin toffee colored lacing.
S - Yeasty chocolate, chocolate creme aroma.
T - Yeasty, some chocolate, and strong alcohol presence in the flavor.
M - Full bodied and viscous.
O - This Imperial Stout is a big mess. (I hate to say it.) The ABV will put you in a happy place, that's about it. 'Will definitely revisit, just not doin' it for me.

Poured on draft at the brewery into a 16 oz can shaped glass. Pours a slick near pitch black with a massive 2 finger khaki head from a Nitro handle that leaves thin webby lace lines as it at snails pace settles into an eighth of an inch of khaki foam.
Smell toffee, dark chocolate, biscuit, leather, vanilla bean, Oak, roasty coffee, and a nice hint of bourbon, but very balanced as I prefer.
Taste follows dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, oaked vanilla, leather, biscuity grain, a hint of smoke, and some bourbon lingers on the tongue after each sip.
Mouthfeel is above medium, creamy with no carbonation as it is on Nitro, maybe a tad dry as it should be, and at 10.5% ABV extremely approachable and goes down pretty dark easy for what it is.
Overall Nate and Sam have created an amazingly balanced and complex BA RIS, that will give you a new flavor after each sip. Really well done and the Nitro makes it slightly different. I highly recommend this one again.
