Poured at the source into a wine shaped tulip glass with a solid 1 plus finger head that leaves massive thick streaks behind, the beer itself is a fairly clear rust red with fabulous retention for a beer of only 5% ABV.
Smell is apricot, caramel, toffee, biscuit, and grapefruit rind.
Taste follows apricot, toffee, caramel, biscuity grain, and a slight bitterness of grapefruit.
Mouthfeel for its ABV is pretty darn big, moderate carbonation, not really dry, and again very approachable, but bigger in flavor than the ABV would have you expect.
Overall this is a nice slightly hoppy red ale, reminds me of Maine Brewing Zoe Ale.
