Our Christmas holiday ale. Dark and rich, brewed with ginger snap cookies, sweet orange peel, cinnamon, maple, coconut and a generous amount of joy.

This version is supposed to be peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookies or some silly shit.

Very light appearance for a stout. Dark brown with minimal head.

The aroma is...ok. Artificial peanut butter with a hint of chocolate. Plenty of dark roast malts.

Oh boy, the flavor. Oh boy. Some faint "peanut butter" and then an apocalypse of artificial chocolate and butter. Why. That isn't a question. Just why.

The feel is watery thin with moderate carbonation. Please stop.

Oh, Kettlehead. I want to love you, I really do. I want to love every brewery in my home state. But beers like this one make it extremely difficult.

16oz can pours murky brown with minimal head or retention.
Cocoa-dusted biscuits in the nose. Medium bodied at best with a thinnish mouthfeel for the style. Chocolate cookies on the palate but other elements that are billed as being in the beer are non-evident.
Finishes thin with some lingering chocolate and biscuity malt.

Finally getting around to this a couple months late. Pours near black with frothy brown foam that settles to a thin cap, moderate lacing. Aromas are simpler than expected, mostly sweet malt, mild ginger snap and a touch of coffee. Flavors bring a vanilla sweetness to the forefront, combining with the roast character, and not much in the way of ginger snap. Very pleasant and easy drinking smoothness. Medium-light mouthfeel and a fairly clean finish. Will try again next year for sure!

Here we go bub.... Santa's Milk the once in a life time experience ale from Kettlehead.

Ok... let's say its good this ale only comes once a year like Santa. Because this stuff is like egg nog, its over the top and you will end up destroying your diet over the holidays. If you were lucky enough to pickup some 4 packs for your bubs, believe me your bubs will like this stuff. Basically it's a ginger snap lover's beer.

If this ale was any better the govn't would have to shut it down!

A 7% Holiday Stout brewed with ginger snap cookies, orange peel, and cinnamon. Poured into a 13 oz Kettle Tulip glass canned on 12/19/18. Pours a very attractive slip black with a 2 finger light tan head that leaves nice thin webs of lace as it slowly settles with incredible retention. 4.25

Smell is maple syrup and ginger snap, hints of of orange but not getting any cinnamon. 4

Taste follows, but maple syrup and ginger dominates, hints of cocoa, coffee, and vanilla in the long lingering finish. Maple and ginger hang on the tongue after each sip. 4

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, gentle carbonation, maybe a tad dry, and drinks larger than its 7% ABV. 4.25

Overall this is a nice holiday stout, especially if you dig maple and ginger bread cookies. I would recommend it to the adventures beer drinkers. 4
