IPA with oats and lactose. During afternoon tea time at the brewery, if you were to ask our good friend Devin what he'd like for a beer, chances are he would say, "cold, yellow, and hoppy!". This is a beer inspired by him. A single hopped rotational IPA. Each time featuring a new hop. For this first one, we used Nelson Sauvin. Look for notes of tropical fruit mixed with white grape, and aromas of white wine. Our second release on 10/30/2019 is double dry hopped with a new heavy hitter hop, STRATA.

My favorite of this series by far. Absolutely delicious sauce and one of my faves from the brewer. A little bummed it's a rotating series, but I get it. If they ever brew it again, I'm on it instantly. Yum!

Pours Opaque almost cloudy deep gold/peach juice color; one finger of mixed bubbles; good cap retention; solid ring; soapy lace. Cat pissy/earthy pineapple hops nose; onion; earthy onion/cat piss nose gets stronger as liquid warms. Taste is semi sweet malt base, no real bitterness to speak of; pineapple, guava; onion as beer warms. Soft fluffy creamy mouthfeel from oats and lactose additions; lite hop burn; moderate minus carbonation; juicy and filling; a lot of oaty fullness in mouth; no warmth. Overall, tics the boxes for NEIPA look and feel; astringent, but no hop bitterness taste; creamy juice box pineapple finish; somewhat better tasting than many other NEIPA style offerings I’ve tried, but the aroma is off putting as is the taste...I probably would not drink again.

Kettlehead Cold Yellow And Hoppy (Strata) NEIPA with lactose 6.5% ABV. Poured at the source into a 13 oz Snulip glass. Pours a bright hazy yellow with 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin webs of lace with excellent retention.4.5
Smell is pineapple, tangerine, vanilla, papaya, and some apricot. 4.25
Taste follows papaya, tangerine, pineapple, vanilla, and apricot. 4.5
Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft gentle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 6.5% ABV crazy drinkable but loaded with flavor. 4.5
Overall another excellent beer from these guys, I highly recommend. Cheers all 4.25
