This one is easily in the top half of the many NEIPAs from this prolific local brewer. Not quite as good as original or DDH versions tho.
All the now-iconic Kettlehead characteristics are present - murky, juicy, low-bitterness, smooth mouthfeel, clean finish. Very enjoyable.

From a 16oz can, undated but, I think, from earlier this week. Served in a tulip.

Pours an opaque, dull orange, mimosa-like beverage with a scant finger of soft, fairly dense foam. Retention is decent, leaving a solid curtain of thin lacing.

Smell is yeasty, fruity, and sweet. Melon, papaya and lime.

Taste is somewhat saccharine sweet with citrusy tartness and vanishingly low bitterness. Melon is not a flavour I associate with Citra but it seems to me to be dominant here, at least initially, principally an overripe, composty cantaloupe character. Also the sticky-sweet papaya and starfruit, finishing with tart, puckery lemon and lime.

Feel is resinous, sticky-juicy, medium bodied with fine, tingly carbonation.

Overall, decent enough drinking but IMO not an improvement over everyday Agent unless you just have a lot of citra hops you’ve got to use up. Funny how the whole body of the beer feels different just switching up the hops? That’s the only change, right? Where regular Agent is fluffy-doughy, I find this iteration to be more sticky-juicy.

Pours a hazy orange with a finger sticky white head that leaves a bunch thin streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Smell peach, ripe melon, papaya, mandarin, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows papaya, cantaloupe, tangerine, peach, and apricot really nice and balanced. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft gentle carbonation, not dry or sticky, and at 7% ABV it may drink a tad bigger but easy going down. 4.75

Overall it may be better than the original, not as good as the Double Dry Hopped version but all 3 variants are excellent..... 4.5
