Frank! This guy right here has got three speeds and even though none of them are very fast, he’s quick to keep you feeling cool on those warm days. If you catch him hanging around the brewery as we all do, be sure to give him a high five and tell him to keep on keeping on, cheers Frank.

Rolling in at 7% and hopped with Ahtanum, 7Cs and Columbus Cryo. Brewed to be more of a traditional IPA, a little less fruity and a little more resiny.

I've been kinda taking a bit of a break from Kettlehead's IPAs recently since my last few have been a little under par especially considering the rather high price point and lack of can dating. However, I have been assured by an associate of my local beer store that this is, indeed, a very good beer. Also, naming a beer Employee of the Month after your brewery fan is stupid and brilliant and kitschy, and I'm here for it. This was apparently brewed with Ahtanum, 7C's (aka Falconer's Flight 7 C's, a kinda-classic blend), and Columbus Cryo hops, which means there are no "new-school" varietals in here, unless you consider using the cryo version of Columbus to be "new-school," which I, for the record, do not. Anyway.

This pours a decent looking orange color with moderate saturation. Somewhat of a peachy undertone to the hue, and it builds up a few fingers of nice head that semi-quickly sinks to a small ring with appropriate legs for the style. Lace is excellent, however, and overall, I think this is a pretty good looking beer. I am eager to see how they did with this hop combo, though, so enough about how it looks!

Tons of bright orange flesh and solid grapefruit-laden pulpiness with some elements of mango and papaya in there. Light resin and some dankness followed by grassy undertones and a hint of tangerine. On the palate, this beer is delicious and chock full of intense citrusy flavors that are bolstered by an incredibly-solid bitterness in the backend. Hell yeah, love to see a nice, bitter, punchy IPA now and then. Feel is pretty bright and well-rounded, though a little on the drier side of things. Powerful but short-acting bursts of carbonation defining each sip. A little bit of oniony earthiness as it warms as well. This is definitely one of the better Kettlehead IPAs I have had of late. Still don't think I'll be buying every single thing they put out, but this is worth a drink, especially if you are into the more West Coast-ish type of IPA in general. Even though this is hazy, it's not a juice bomb. Good stuff.

From a pint can with no date marking but since this beer was only just released a couple weeks ago it should be very fresh.

Pours into my tulip glass a fully opaque pineapple juice color with a big foamy tan head. Well laced with sticky fluffy panels.

Scent is tangerines, pineapple juice, Orange Julius (remember those?) with just a hint of a spicy oniony hop note in the background.

Taste is a muddled tropical fruit mix - guava, mangoes, pineapple. A hint of bread crust; only the briefest suggestion. A touch of that oniony dank resin note I love so much. Only a touch though. Nice bitterness builds as I sip.

Mouth is creamy but with a mildly astringent finish.

With the turbid opaque appearance this seems more like a NEIPA or a Hazed IPA than it does a traditional IPA but no matter. It is quite a delicious beer either way.
