Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. I picked up this can at the brewery over the summer and its been in my cellar since then. The beer pours a clear chestnut color with a fluffy khaki colored head of 3.5 cm in the glass even with a gentle pour. This foam fades slowly to a sturdy surface covering and leaves windowpane lattice as it drops down the glass.
Aroma is chalky cocoa powder and some light herbal tea hop note. Fairly balanced aroma on this one.
First sip reveals a medium body with soft and rolling carbonation. The beer is very easy to drink on the physical traits.
Flavor is similar to the nose and not overly complex with milk chocolate notes and a bit of cocoa powder mixing with bit of a grassy and tea hop note that lingers after the swallow. Beer also dries out on the finish. Never any hint of the ABV and this one is a pretty straightforward brown ale. Glad to have tried this beer.
