Canned 2023/09/14
Pours a very large 3 finger foamy tan head with moderate retention, lots of messy lacing, hazy dark mahogany to almost chestnut brown color
Nose sweet toffee biscuits, molasses and a bit of caramel, mild raisiny fruits malt-derived, and some generic fruity esters yeast-derived, little butter sweet-bread biscuit, some potpourri alcohol phenol notes, a bit of herbal earthy UK hops
Taste brings plenty more sweet characters but only mildly sweet overall, some buttery toffee candy and toasted biscuits, sweet bread and bread crust, more of the booze soaked raisins and fig from malt-derived esters, as well as a mild pome fruit yeast-derived ester character, mild smooth alcohol and potpourri phenol notes again, light herbal-earthy UK style hops with a touch of bitterness, semi sticky sweet finish
Mouth is fuller bod, a touch sticky, med small bubble carb, hint of warming but smooth alcohol
Overall pretty good example of a wee heavy
