From a 16oz can, 3rd one of a 4-pack obtained some time ago....

Pours a nearly opaque, very dark brown. Has a creamy, short, fine layer of beige suds up top. Head ebbs to a covering layer with light lacing. Semisweet aroma has roasty notes, dark choco, coffee, some toffee and cocoa. Body is medium-plus with a smooth feel

Taste also has dark choco and cocoa, but also a slightly tart, fruity lean to it. Sort of like chocolate covered cherries. I drank the previous 2 cans of this months ago and don't recall this aspect to it. Off can, or has it sat too long? Odd for an RIS... Still found it to be decently tasty. The 4th can should be interesting. Prost!!

Nightmares on nightmares on nightmares is evidently an anniversary brew, boiled 36 hours with no adjuncts. It’s rather interesting. Obsidian black, heavy used motor oil viscosity glugging out. A two inch mocha head that fades into a scant ring and lacing. Not much aroma. First sip seems sweet like a milk stout, but a little deeper sip brings an Old Rasputin roastiness, ending with a dark chocolate malt, sort of like how Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout USED TO taste. Perhaps not as exciting as 8 Wired iStout Anniversary, but it takes your tongue on quite a ride. The alcohol hides up front, no warming, but it’s a hefty beer most assuredly. The limited aroma hurts the rating points, but this rates higher than that skewing suggests. The more I drink it, I upped the taste rating. An excellent 34 degrees F cold back porch stout.

Poured into a 20 oz tulip glass canned on 10/24/23. Pours a very attractive near pitch black with a finger mocha head that leaves some thin lines of lace. 4.5

Aroma is sweet dark chocolate, expresso, vanilla bean, and a hint of char. 4.5

Taste follows dark chocolate, expresso, vanilla, and a little roasty char. 4.25

Mouthfeel is above average, gentle carbonation, maybe a tad dry, and at 11.99% a sipper that goes down far too easy. 4.25

Overall this is a very nice imperial stout. I will get more of this one. 4.25
