Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass bottled late October. Pours a very attractive near pitch black with a finger plus sticky mocha head that leaves thin streaks of lace, with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma is deep dark chocolate, vanilla bean, roasty coffee, dates, back strap molasses, and charred bourbon. 4.5
Taste follows dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, back strap molasses, a hint of dark fruit, and a healthy dose of charred bourbon, but well balanced. 4.5
Mouthfeel is above average, soft gentle almost creamy carbonation, just a tad dry and never a problem with an Imperial Stout, and at 10.9% a sipper, that goes down way too easy. 4.5
Overall this is my local brew pub and in 6 years they have made a mark. They figured out how to brew a great Imperial Stout. I highly recommend this one. 4.5
