Wouldn't have been my first choice if I read the label before purchasing, but it was much better than I expected. It is sweet for an IPA and "Gelato" in the name made me think of some Milkshake abomination. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer featured the standard Hazy IPA straw yellow color and a medium sized foamy white head with good retention. There were thick, wide bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste were somewhat sweet and fragrant, kind of floral and sweet berry combination. These were not overdone and I was pleased to note there wasn't a huge lactose presence either. A touch of Hazy IPA dankness kept the sweetness in check also, since this beer wasn't that bitter. Mouthfeel was smooth and somewhat sweet. I wouldn't buy another one, but non-hophead IPA drinkers might want to give this beer a try.
