Stupid 19.2oz can (dated 12/26/21) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a lightly hazy coppery orange color with an inch of off-white head that had good retention and decent lacing.

Traditional West Coast ImpIPA aroma; solid, mildly sweet malts topped with big, bold, citrusy and piney hops.

Same on the tongue, a solid dose of the usual ingredients.

The body was full, slightly coarse, and had a semi-sweet finish that dried out quickly.

Drinkability was good, an enjoyable can.

Overall, a solid example of what IPAs once were, and could be again. Worth a shot if you see it.

This is a great DIPA West Cost example. No fruits, no oats, no smooth haze. Instead, it's double what you'd expect from an IPA. LOTS of hops (Magnum, Simco, Centennial, Cascade). Strong alcohol presence and some sweetness that comes with it. This is wonderful, and I recommend it.

Handsome dark orange amber with long-lasting sticky foam in the IPA glass. Pretty much of an assault on the taste buds, but it's all hops. Huge orange and peach aroma with cedar in the nose. Quite sweet and woody with a bitter liqueur finish. Flavors of orange peel and grapefruit and hot with alcohol.

Very bitter finish, yet within the limits of decency and drinkability. This is a hop overdose for sure, but manages to be sippable with the right frame of mind. From the 19.2 oz can purchased at Whidbey Beer Works. Dated 06/24/21 on the bottom.

19.2oz can served in a big nonic pint. Dated 07-24-20. Bought it a couple days ago at Total Wine in Bellevue.

Pours a rich bronze-gold, lightly hazy, with a medium sized head and medium to low visible carbonation. Smell is toffee, biscuit, and pine resin.

Taste is imperial reddish -- toffee and bitterness. Moderate roasty sweetness and pine bitterness.

Mouthfeel is thick and rich. Overall, it's pretty good.

19oz can served in a nonic glass. Canned on 05/19/20.

Look- Slightly hazy darker amber color. A solid light khaki head with great retention and plenty of lacing. Moderate carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Pithy citrus (grapefruit, orange and lemon), resinous pine, caramel malt, light tropical fruits and berries, earthy/grassy notes.

Taste- Similar to the aroma, Pithy citrus and pine, light tropical fruit and apricot, light berry and earthy hop notes.

Feel- Medium/heavy bodied, sticky and sweet up front with an assertive bitter finish. Medium carbonation on the tongue.

O- I have a feeling this is a new rendition of their Ballz Deep DIPA with a tweaked recipe and new packaging. Though this definitely tastes better than it did the last time I had BD. Worth trying.
