At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite but now closed The Beer Store on Goyeau St. in nearby downtown Windsor. My 8th beer from the St. Thomas, Ontario brewery, and 5th for 2025. Loved by Gracie the cat...

My can is a little skunky. After checking the date I see it’s 13 months since packaging. I’m not seeing much difference between this and any other light adjunct lager. It is a bit cheaper though.

Looks alright with a thumb of head and some mild carbonation, but the whole experience is swampy and skunky. I'm fine with giving a leeway if you are using a clear or green bottle, but this is canned. It's also got a slight acidic note in the aftertaste. It's not outrageously bad, but I wouldn't buy this again.

As far as adjunct lagers go, I'd take this one over most others available. Clean drinking, biscuit nose and easy grassy hoppiness. Summer patio season for sure.

Golden and clear filtered with a few small, large bubbles of carbonation. Topped with 3 fingers of white head.

Smells of malts, slightly grassy, with hints of hay and molasses.

Tastes very malt forward with a big, yeasty finish. A touch of sourness, and overall pleasant.

Light body, with medium to low carbonation.

My wife brought this one home to me today from LCBO in Bala. Drinking it overlooking Lake Muskoka, Jan 16th, 2018.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. $2.35 CDN at the LCBO.

Appearance - Clear, fairly rich golden color. A nice finger of fluffy white head that isn't long for the world and minimal amounts of visible carbonation. Thin layer of wispy foam does linger.

Smell - Clean and grainy with some grassiness too. Not a lot else other than a touch of lemon.

Taste - No real noticeable adjuncts, although nearly devoid of flavor. Thin amount of grain flavor and subtle sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Surprisingly fizzy, light body, could be gassy.

Overall - Okay as a mowing the lawn type of beer and price-wise, otherwise I'll pass on this pseudo-craft style lager.

Tallboy from the LCBO; dated Nov 2 2017 and served well chilled.

Pours crystal clear with a bright golden-yellow body, upon which one finger of soapy white foam initially floats. It fizzles itself out of existence within two minutes' time, leaving behind a thin collar with no lace. Looks like an average adjunct lager to me, and something similar can be said for the aroma: it's grainy-sweet and a bit doughy, with hints of wet hay and corn sugar.

Pretty bland really, but it is very easy to drink - and with this style, isn't that the most important quality to consider? Leans toward the sweet side, with grainy barley, doughy malt and corn chips being the major flavours of note. A brief pulse of grassy hops marks the finish, followed by a weak aftertaste of corn husks. Light in body, with restrained carbonation for this sort of brew - not particularly fizzy at all, but rather quite smooth and refreshing. That also means there's not much of a bloat factor, which would probably make this a fantastic session lager... if you enjoy the flavour enough to try that.

Final Grade: 3.2, a C+. I wouldn't say Locker Room Lager is anything too special, but it's also fair to point out that I'm not the target demographic for this beer. It's a mindless swiller for sure, but a respectable example of one IMO. At the very least, it's more flavourful than any of the macro light lagers - which is not a bad place to start, because it's nearly the same price as one anyway. In fact, it's marginally cheaper per tallboy, so there you go - I'd rather drink this than Blue, or anything that ends in "Light".
