Drift away on a pillow of clouds with with Hazy IPA. Hand crafted with huge amounts of oats to impart a soft and velvety mouthfeel. The hops definitely take center stage with tropical notes of pineapple, passionfruit, citrus from new age varieties such as Mosaic, Citra, Cashmere and Strata.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned January 20/25. My 5th beer from the Chatham, Ontario brewery, and 4th for 2025. Wildly endorsed by Gracie the cat...

473 ml can served cold into a tulip glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Canned August 28, 2023.
Appearance - Hazy, rather pale golden colored brew with a finger and a half of eggshell white colored head. Pretty solid staying power but not much in the way of lacing. Lots of effervescence rising from the bottom of the glass.
Smell - Muted citrus notes, some nectarine involved too. Wheat malt backbone.
Taste - More citrus but plenty more peach and nectarine. Rather sweet but the flavor is thin and not terribly juicy.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, good carbonation and juicy-ish finish.
Overall - Decent enough NEIPA, but Drift is going against an increasingly competitive local market, and with that it mind, it doesn't really stand out in any way, shape or form.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 23 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy golden-yellow colour, stirring up nearly an inch of foamy white head that falls off within three or four minutes' time. A lovely coat of delicate, doily-patterned lace sticks to the glass, with a frothy, sudsy collar and cap living on - looks good so far. Grassy, floral hops on the nose, with added notes of tangerine, honeydew melon, lemon & lime zest; slightly herbal and earthy.
It tastes alright: I'm getting tangerine, passion fruit and lime, with hints of honeydew melon, oats, lemon and strawberry. Finishes with floral notes, citrus pith and herbal, dank hops; bitterness is moderate at best, with a citrusy, slightly earthy aftertaste. Light-medium in body; moderate carbonation that adds some spritz to this brew's smooth mouthfeel. It's easy enough to drink, but doesn't excel at anything.
Final Grade: 3.71, a B grade. Drift is a good IPA, but I don't think it stands out in a marketplace crowded with similar hazy pale ales. Unsurprisingly less juicy than their Juice Box - I'd likely recommend that Sons of Kent IPA before this one, though I suppose Drift has its merits, being lighter, less acidic and slightly more sessionable. Worth a try, and I'm sure I'll return for more in the near future.
