This full bodied Hazy Session IPA is brewed with Simcoe hops and experimental hop-HBC1019. With notes of coconut, peaches and honeydew melon. Additionally brewed with Euphorics 'Peachy Keen' hop derived flavour extracts for an added fresh peach flavour kick!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From their IPA Mix Pack 2 at my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned February 13/25. My 10th beer from the Chatham, Ontario brewery, and 3rd for 2026. With Sundae the cat's strict permission...

473 mL can from the LCBO, included in the Sons of Kent IPA Boombox Vol. 2 mixed pack. Dated Feb 13 2025 and served barely chilled.
Pours a relatively clear pale blonde colour, amassing one finger of loose, soapy white head on the surface. Within a couple of minutes, it has dissipated down to a sudsy collar surrounding a thin cap; several swaths of sticky lace are flung onto the glass in the process. Faint aroma of wheat husk and graininess, with suggestions of melon, orange and unripe stone fruits.
It's alright - the flavour profile is rather muted at first, but finishes with some vigour. The Euphorics hop extract seems understated, adding a light, continuous peach note throughout the sip; it's most noticeable later on. Other flavours include wheaty, crackery pale malts, orange and honeydew melon, with a blast of coconut near the finish. Peach and coconut fade into the aftertaste, which is off-dry. Light in body, with lively carbonation that feels spritzy on the tongue, adding some bite to this light IPA's smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, but likely my least favourite of the six beers in this mixer.
Final Grade: 3.6, a B grade. Not every experiment can be wildly successful - that's just how science works, and the science of brewing is certainly not exempt. Fun Stuff is a serviceable session IPA, but I'm not convinced it's a beer I'd choose to drink again. That's mostly due to personal gripes, rather than any inherent flaws with this beer: the coconut (imparted by the HBC1019) is not my cup of tea, and it comes on strong late in the sip - but on the other hand, the peachiness is nice. Kind of a mixed bag, recommended mainly to session IPA fans seeking something peachy.
